Introduction:
I didn't start this guide until the middle of the second season. By then I had watched quite a few movies with Alyssa Milano and realized if I wanted her on tape to watch whenever I felt like it, I had better tape Charmed. So I started the episode guide to tell me which Phoebe shows I should keep on tape.

Column Key:
GD A, B, C, D, F letter grade
Y/N Archive episode, Yes or No
sister Emphasized sister(s)
S.nn Season and episode number in season

Commentary. When I stopped caring.

It's sad when good TV shows go bad. Charmed used to be, well, charming. In season 4 it was boring, at best, when it wasn't annoying. Shows can go bad because characters or scripts or emphasis change. In the case of Charmed, everything changed. It was not the same show anymore at all and should have been called The Source or Cole And Phoebe or maybe just Cole, instead of Charmed.

The sisters used to be interesting, fun to watch people. Phoebe in love with life and enjoying it, Piper working hard to make her mark and Prue trying to manage the unruly bunch. But they were not the same people any more. In season 4 Phoebe was a depressing villain, Piper did nothing, and Prue was gone. The original stories used deal with a different demon each week. I'm not a demon of the week fan, but having the lead characters figure out how to handle each villain generated problem solving behavior. Problem solving behavior is interesting. In the 4th season there was the same villain each week, Cole, and most of the time the sisters didn't know he was evil.

To top it off, the producers finally figured out how to make Alissa Milano look ugly.

Just to set the record straight, Paige was NOT the problem. The character is good and the acting fine. The scripts were the problem.
